Ground Coverings
Most people will agree that in life things are only as good as their foundations and this is very applicable to Adventure installations. A good working surface which requires little or no maintenance essential to the smooth operation of any ropes course. Not to mention the impression it makes on your customers.
There are only two types of ground cover which really cut the mustard for Adventure installations. Gravel and Wetpour.
Bark or Wood chippings look good but will require constant replacement and the various matting products available all have short comings.
Gravel and Wetpour are time served adventure installation and playground surfaces which last and conform with EN 1176 the standard for playground surfaces.
The downside they both have is that they both need to be installed on good foundations – meaning levelling of the ground and the installation of a 100mm layer of compacted Type 1 or scalpings. And they both cost more that other types of ground cover. However most people will agree that in life you get what you pay for!
